Thanksgiving

For thanksgiving the family took a trip to see G-Funk Wanda in Las Vegas (pretty much our second home.) Jaylen actually did very well in the car, both ways. On the way down we were traveling at night and she pretty much slept most of the time. The trip back was during the day and she didn't do too bad. She would get a little upset for a couple minutes every once in a while, but hey, for a 21 week old I don't think we could have asked for any better. I think her biggest problem was the fact that she was positive that it was time to be rolling around on the ground with a couple toys at hand, and the blasted car seat was definitely hindering that possibility.
Niether of these two could get enough of each other...maybe that was part of why she didn't want to be heading home? ;)
Jaylen got her first taste of a real orange on thanksgiving day. She was digging it until it got a little too tart for her.

Every where we went people could not get enough of Jaylen. We have apparently produced the world's cutest little girl, not that we mind. I just don't want her getting a big ego or anything. ;)
All in all she had a blast on her first trip to Las Vegas and I think that she wants to go back again soon.

Happy Halloween!!

Just wanted to make sure everyone gets a chance to see the world's cutest lady bug. Sadly, Jaylen did not have the opportunity to join all the other ghastly ghouls and goblins that were out and about this year. But, just wait until next year, she will surely be tricking and treating with a vengance, trying to make up for lost time.

Possibly in a neighborhood near you!!!(well the lucky ones at least)

:)

There is no way to resist this little one.

Jaylen was given an Exersaucer by a very generous, yet anonymous neighbor. After a little bit of Lysol and some scrubbing, here she is to show it off!

Over the past couple of weeks she has grown to love her new gift. Her favorite toy on the Exersaucer is the one that rolls, with little balls inside (top right picture). It just so happens to be the one that makes the most sound. :)

Movin' up

Here we have some footage and photos of the very first tasting of REAL foood! It was a little bit of peas and she really did not mind them at all. It is pretty exciting for all of us! She has tried a number of foods since then and really likes carrots but not so much green beans. And there is a stained onsie somewhere that can attest to that.

Look Mommy! No daddy hands!

Once again I have been lolly-gagging and slacking off on the posts. But, hey check it out, Jaylen is gaining control of her tiny hands. This was the first time we caught her self-feeding abilities on camera. This pic was taken a while ago and believe me she is now getting plenty of practice with those cute little arms and hands, she is practically a pro. :)

I couldn't resist putting this up just because she is having such a great time. She has started to enjoy bath time a lot more and even moves her hands around in it. Good luck keeping her sitting straight and on her bath chair though.
Grandpa Aaron was feeling REALLY generous and went and bought hot pink bean bag chairs for both Jaylen and Ava.
I think it is safe to say that anyone that has ever had a bean bag chair, knows them to be great, and the little ones are no exception. wierd......
They both love them and are sure to get years of enjoyment out of them. I have to admit that it makes me a little jealous for a bean bag bed that would dwarf me like their chairs do the girls, but who am I fooling there is no way my wife would fall for that ;)
Anyway here are a couple pics of her kicking back and having a ball in her new throne.

Earings!!!

Here are a couple shots of the little lady's newest accessories. Erica and Jenna took both the girls in and got their ears pierced at the mall a couple of weeks ago. The two girls did very well and by the time it was time to eat again, I'm sure neither of them were thinking about their ears. She loves her new earings and can't wait untill she can wear other colors to match her outfits (or more likely we can't wait.) :)

Sick Girl

Well she made it 8 weeks....and now she is sick. :( Baby Jay got her first cold ever and found out how much she reeeeeeaaaaaaalllllllllllly hates that ugly green sucker. And we got to find out how much we hate putting that ugly green sucker in her little nose. Today is day number 16 of sucking boogers, I can't keep torturing her so it better be over soon. :)

Just a couple good shots of Lil' Miss Model. She may not be getting paid for it but come on, these shots are like gold in the industry.

Ok maybe not that great but we like them and wanted to share.

Let the good times roll!

I know I have been slacking, but I just can't seem to make it to the computer lately. Always SOMETHING to be done. But, any time is better than no time, so here is the only footage so far of our little girl in rolling action. We keep trying to get more but she doesn't roll all the time yet and sometimes we forget the camera. But here it is anyway in all of its greatness. I know I love watching it because I have only been able to be around for two tummy-time sessions that ended victoriously for the rookie. So please, to those of you who are even less fortunate than I, ENJOY!

Family BBQ

We haven't been too successful at getting all of us together in one place, but we did it this time! We all went over to Glo and John's for some BBQ, photos and Wii. Here we have Great Grandma Whitney, Ali with Gaby, Glo, Erica with Jaylen, and Nana Blanco. Just add Casey, John, Leo, and Papa Blanco in the second pic for the whole lot of us. I'm just glad that there were several other cameras at the gathering and that someone took better ones that these. Gaby was just so amused with what was happening around her, who cares about a CAMERA?

Mom and Jaylen enjoying the festivities outdoors. Great food, great company, great times. Aside from the neighbor dog's show of enthusiasm about our being outside, the day was all we could ask for. I don't remember how hot it was, but we were all looking for shade. Hopefully next time no body will have to work at all and the good times won't HAVE to end.
Jaylen taking a nap while Nana holds her. She slept pretty well. Probably because she doesn't know what the Wii is yet, or she would be the only one playing and we would have given up. Ever challange a youngster on Rock Band? DON'T, you WILL lose. If you wanna win just let me know ;)

Meet the cousin

Casey, Ali and Gabriella made the trip all the way from New Jersey to visit family. They stopped off to spend some time with Casey's side of the family first, then made their way up to Southern Idaho to see Ali's side. They got into town the evening of the 25th and cruised over to our pad to see the baby. I assume it was about a half hour past Gaby's bed-time but she was very well behaved, all things considered. She finally got to meet her first cousin and see just exactly where all of her clothes, that she is so fond of and too big for, are ending up. Don't worry Gab, we will return all items when we are done ("just in case" your mommy and daddy need them.)

It always seems too far in between visits from the NJ Hunters, but when you live all the way on the other side of this great country it can be a difficult task staying close to family. I'm sure it's our turn to make the trek next, and that it will be well worth it when we can. But, until then, we will just have to make the best of the time we are together.

Bath Time

Before: Just a baby, slightly dirty (if you can even tell,) and perfectly content with life as it is.

Having a bath: I'm not really sure if she likes or dislikes bath -time. But, there is definately a lot of grunting involved. I wish we had an actual camcorder with sound (hopefully someday,) but at least we can record SOMETHING. ;)

I just love how much she is growing. Her belly looks huge on her baby body. I made the joke that "She is like 50% belly," and I may be exhagerating but I can't be that far off.

After the bath: She is once again totally content with her existence.

Pretty at the Picnic

Erica and Jenna dressed these two little ladies in some stylish and matching apparel for this year's Prudential company picnic.
I think they had a blast!
Jaylen in her lil' green tank-top.
Cute as can be!!

Uncle Lyndell getting in some quality time.

11 Days

Jaylen went to the doctor today!

The Doc says she is jaundice-free and growing right on track. We already an over-achiever to deal with, as she has surpassed the expectation of just putting her birth weight back on, by

smashing that goal and adding a couple extra ounces. Her official weight is now 7 pounds and 10.5 ounces and shows absolutely NOOO signs of stopping. I think it's safe to say that her little tummy has made a full recovery and may be working a little bit of overtime now. One thing is for sure.....this little one eats like her daddy and can't get enough!

Here is Jaylen with just a few of her most favorite people in her new world!
